Workshop in Riga
At the workshop in Riga everything worked as planned thanks to very good preparations
from

Tomass Romanovskis and the staff at Agenskalna gimnasium. Thank you all! We had many very
good presentations and good discussions. Here follows an overview of what happened. (Click
pictures for ful size).

The first presentation was by Dr. phys. I. Smelds about Sun Research in Latvia. In
addition he showed many nice pictures from the solar eclipse August. 11. The second
presentation was about air monitoring in Riga.by Dr. phys J. Kleperis and his master
student I. Pruse:

A group from the University of Latvia made an excellent performance dressed in Latvian
customs.

The workshop was held at Agenskalna Gimnasium just outside Riga Center. Parts of the
school had been renovated and we have really to congratulate with the result. The school
had specialised in science and the Latvian Olympic teams came from the school. But they
showed that they also had other qualities. The concert by the quire was excellent and the
folk dance likewise.
Here are some pictures from the presentation of the school. Thank you!:

The last part of the workshop was used to discuss cooperation between schools. Those schools that did not have a partner school used the opportunity to make new connections:
